The Houston Chapter is growing because of great people like you! There are many great opportunities for you to get connected with the Houston membership. Membership provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your music ministry gifts, form meaningful relationships with others in the music ministry, receive strength and encouragement, and the love that every Christian needs.
Held on the 1st Saturday of each month, our rehearsals are somewhat informal. You are welcome to come and just sit in, observe and become acquainted with us. Hopefully after your first visit, you will be compelled to join us. Because of the fact that we meet at a different church in the Greater Houston area every quarter, it is necessary that you check out the engagement page on this website for the latest information on our rehearsal location.
While the GMWA Houston Chapter is primarily a musical organization, there are many other ministries within the organization. Other ministry opportunities include Evangelistic Outreach, Men’s Division, Women’s Division, Ushers, Academic Division, and Security. Serving others is the best way to make an impact and to build solid relationships with those around you. The fees for membership are listed below for your convenience. The Houston Chapter is all about equipping church workers, building friendships, encouragement, and presenting opportunities for worshiping God! When you get involved with the Houston Chapter, you will immediately know that you’re apart of a family. There are many areas where your particular gifts, talents, and skills can be used to help make this ministry the best it can be! Membership Categories
Active Member
This membership level is open to anyone who has actively participated in the Houston Chapter GMWA within the previous year. It is available to those who have participated in meetings, rehearsals, and other service opportunities within the chapter for at least a year. Membership on the local level provides the privilege of participating in meetings on the local/national levels and gives one the right to vote and hold an office.
Senior Member
Membership at the Senior level is open to anyone who is age 62 and up. Membership on the local level provides the privilege of participating in meetings on the local/national levels and gives one the right to vote and hold an office.
Associate Member
This membership level is open to all new members age 21 and up, who have not participated in GMWA during the previous year. Associate members will have the opportunity to register as an active member after one year of service.
Youth Member
Youth membership is available to anyone who is age 5-20 and desires to participate in the various youth offerings of the GMWA.
